SANTIAGO, Chile: A U.N agency says Latin America attracted a record US$106 billion (€68 billion) in investments during 2007.
The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean says that is due mainly to the region's growth and the continued high world demand for natural resources.
Investments rose by 46 percent over 2006.
The report released Thursday says Brazil received US$34 billion (€22 billion) in 2007, almost one third of the total regional figure. It was followed by Mexico with US$23 billion (€22 billion) and Chile with US$14 billion (€17 billion).
The United States, Holland and Spain were the main sources of investment.
